This is a story about a man on a mission. This man, Mr. Gerald D'Aoust, was in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1977, where he saw a live Lhasa Apso for the first time. Lead by his dream he travelled to Nepal, where he eventually had the good fortune to import several beautiful little dogs, which he obtained from Lama Gyan Yeshe and from the Tibetan refugees of his Jorpati Khamba camp in Nepal, in the early 1980s. These became the Dharmapala Lhasas, aka Gompa dogs.
